Lately I've been really thinking deeply. I don't want to be anti social. But the straight forward solution to climate change seems to be very anti social. Namely, less people, worse economy, lower standard of living, reduce consumption and high prices.

It's difficult to not be anti social when there's a pressing climate issue that'll kill everyone eventually. Trading pain now for surviving later is going to be worth it.

I guess I'm just frustrated that climate change is a literal live or death issue for everyone. But humans can't corporate and agree on solutions. Politics and economy gets in the way of us solving it.

"Humans extinction because it's too expensive and politicians want power" sounds too dumb to be true. But news and situations points into that direction.. Come on. Let's not go to that.

I wonldn't care about the topic if I can do the right thing myself and avoid the worst part of it, like how I can be frugal and most financial collasps will blow over me.

I've been reflecting on my position/view on climate change. I feel like I've accidentally ended up in the in-group out-group mentality. Which is not healthy.

But also, clearly I'm not a part of the problem. I don't drive, don't buy compulsively, don't fly often, shop locally and what not - everything asked to help the environment. So the problem must exist outside. And I feel I must address it - I literally felt winter disappeared where I live.

How can I point to someone/something and say "this is a problem, go fix it" without first identifying myself doing more then good enough?

Lunch though: The best way to combat consumerism and overconsumption is to have a rich-ish fried. Find that he/she buys everything he/she needs even if expensive while refuse to buy crap even though it's cool or cheap.

Also me only carry an beaten up, braded backpack but wears generic clothing doesn't mean I'm broke. That thing is damn tough. It has withstand my abuse for 8 years and still in perfect shape. Fills like it'll survive another 30. It just amortizes well.

I don't like where we (humans) are right now. Although arguably much better then we are in the past.

1. AI is getting good fast, without sight of diminishing returns.

2. Carbon emissions is still not going down (though slowing).

I don't want to sound alaramist. But I feel this is the current 2 major risks the entire human species face. And I am young enough that I might see the consequences unfolding.

It's difficult to focuse on your life when there's literal life or death issues going around. Just venting.

Please convince me:

AI art creation has been in a bad light due to not respecting artists. But artists already agreed people could download their work and decode it. People could already learn from art. So why is AI learning from art so cnoterversial?

My basis is that humans are not holy or magic. We are just wet computers at the very bottom. (From a scientific view). I want to be on the side of artists. But I don't see any reasonable, logical mechanism in which artists can be protected while keeping the line between humans and AI seprate.

Since humans and AI both learn. And potentially through the same prrocess (will cite later). There's no difference right? I think I'm in crysis.

What's the management style at your workplace? I became a team lead and have kept the "you can do whatever you want, whenever as long as everyone agrees beforehand and benefits the company" style. It works. Everyone finished their work efficiently and delivers good product by all technical standarda. Even picking up tasks that others haven't got to yet. The bottleneck now is really my speed of finding new directions of improvement.

Unpopular opinion/something I don't understand.

The entire infosec and broder security industries are victim blaming. The entire point is to avoid even possible to getting hacked. "Don't take nudes (and share) if you don't intend them getting spread" is valid adivce to reduce attack vector.

It's like saying. "Don't take photos of drugs if you don't want FBI knocking your door." It's just good OpSec. And no one protect the drug heads.

We shouldn't mock victims afterwards. But we should teach OpSec and 1st principles. And teach people to take responsiblity. No amount of defence after can remove the harm done. And the no-blaming movement is hindering exactly it,

This takes 2~3 days: fiat in account-> bank -> internation wire trsnasfer -> broker -> fund clearing

While this takes less then a day: fiat in account -> crypto exchange -> USDT/USDC/ETH -> broker (no fund clearing step)

Wow the speed of banks amazes me
