Unlike what seems to be the majority of the other creators in the Gemini Space, I don't come from a computer science background. I say computer science to cover all means of the computer/network/cloud/etc career paths. Nothing agianst them it's a broad limb of careers that I grew near, and have always been interested in, but I never quite got into them.
I'm mostly accessing the Gemini Space on my Dad's old ThinkPad W530 that I've maxed out the RAM, replaced the SSD, and installed Linux Mint.
Anyhoo.
I'm a failed electrical engineer turned to electrician. While attending university I took a few computer science courses, but nothing really stuck that well. Introducotry courses tend to do that.
What's in a name? Every name has some meaning behind it. As you know, as an electrician, I work with electical power (and signals), suffixed with man (He/Him for those who really want to know). The 72 is not my birth year, or a lucky number. It's in reference to the NFPA 72: The electrical code book.
As of the start of this Gemini Capsule, my main computer is my dad's old ThinkPad W530. He got a newer ThinkPad for his photography, videography, etc. He was only keeping this machine around for some older verions of some of the old software that he thought he might want to use. I replaced the SSD (gave the old one back to him) and upgraded the RAM, so now I'm at the maximum of 32GB. I popped a 1TB SSD in and installed Linux Mint Cinnamon.
