View submission: Improving walkability cost me an election
I have been in a position to sacrifice goodwill to make the hard decisions. You did the right thing and I'm not convinced there is any alternative.
I'm curious if you have thoughts on the focus on "messaging". You sound like me, you thought being extra communicative would work. I found even the most engaged folks that attended all the meetings had HUGE blindspots. Stuff we had been talking about for months and months. It convinces me that focusing on messaging over efficacy is just a way to waste our time and effort after a certain point. (Don't get me started on the legal liability issues making real transparency impossible)
