Yeah, people have been really bitching about the new bus lanes in Minneapolis. I’m considering writing a letter in support of them. At the risk of doxxing myself - I live near one and love how much safer I feel when crossing the road at non-traffic light areas cuze it usually gives me an extra barrier to check for incoming traffic. I’m thinking about writing an op-Ed to counteract the negative ones I’ve seen, this gave me the push to do it I think

Please do it. Every public word of support meant so much to me while going through this. It was incredibly frustrating that I knew we had lots of people who supported it but didn’t want to say anything.

Do it. The politicians, staffs, and general public hear so much more from the "anti-" than pro-sensible action world, which distorts perspective of public support while undermining public support for smart actions.

Would love to chime in and say as another resident directly adjacent to one of these new bus lanes: they ROCK! Not just for making the bus run smoother (huge perk), or for removing parking (excellent), but because they effectively make the road less wide for pedestrians to cross and daylight the intersections by default. Walking and cycling across Lake feels significantly safer today than it did even a year ago.
