Richard Castellano made an error with his demands almost as tragically as Marcus Chong with The Matrix and Terrence Howard with Iron Man franchises. If all three just went along with reasonable but slightly below standard offers, it would have paid off incredibly.

Michael Gazzo offered a bit more depth with Pentangeli, both as a traditional mob boss while complex enough to know ancient history and his role in Corleone scheming. I never saw Clemenza discussing the Romans

Yes that's right. And those are valid points about Pentangeli. As much as I enjoyed Clemenza, Pentangeli was pretty entertaining and brought a fresh perspective.
