I've read some harsh critiques of Orlando Bloom's acting.

One of those was fleshing out the idea that the reason Orlando Bloom does so well in POTC is because he's playing a character who is meant to be the main guy, but in reality he's supported by every other character. Which is no different to him as an actor in that particular film.

That and also I have the impression he's pretty much playing himself - a handsome, upstanding and ultimately really quite boring chap.

I’ve read some harsh critiques of Orlando Bloom’s acting.

Because even when he’s portraying complex characters, he’s still Orlando-Blooming all over the frames. He’s not a terrible actor, but he’s got about as much range as a doorknob. He can be charismatic when he’s not sharing the screen with Johnny Depp, but so can I…^no, ^I ^can’t.
