Well clearly whatever the one part you live in of the gigantic aforementioned area just happens to be the exception to the rule because our sweeping generalizations of the entire south and mid-west can't possibly be wrong. That would mean we're bigoted, and that requires religion.

I also live in Kentucky. Western KY growing up, Lexington now at 22. In high school, I would have close friends actually preach to me, and try to "convert" me, instead of just being my friend. It, unfortunately, made me not want to be their friend for long.

Living around the Kentucky Campus now, I don't really get a lot of people giving me crap. There are regular preachers and shouters around student areas that try to tell you that you're going to hell. Beyond that, most people don't care a lot. Then again, I keep to my close group of friends, so that could be a reason.
