I'll throw out a conspiracy theory for the hell of it:
/u/karmanaut mentioned that Victoria policed AMAs so they were done by the actual subjects and not agents. /u/kn0thing specifically mentions how upcoming AMA subjects are excited about doing them "without assistance"
Tinfoil: Reddit wants to reduce the chances of AMAs derailing by having them done entirely by PR people.

if they think PR people know redditors better than victoria and will make AMAs go off without a hitch, they're horribly wrong.
