View submission: If a U.S. president attempted to dismantle democracy or impose authoritarian rule, how would the military likely respond? Would they prioritize their oath to the Constitution or follow orders from leadership?

Does the cia preserve that oath or do they do what they want? So, at least cia can do anything they want.

Not legally on American soil. The CIA can only legally work outside the US. Anything domestic has to be handed over to the FBI (DEA, Homeland etc too). CIA is also not technically law enforcement, they're intelligence. CIA agents (I don't believe) have arrest power for instance.
