I know the feeling all to well. Got pretty familiar with Yosemite and other National parks with solo trips. If you like nature you should make the drive to Zion NP. It's not too long at all imo but you do lose an hour from the time zones. Lots of interesting stops along the way also

I've actually been plotting on hitting Zion. It looks amazing and I also want to go somewhere where I can see all the stars at night. And I do enjoy nature, but haven't spent enough time in it so I'd be a little overwhelmed with a solo Yosemite trip probably.
