View submission: Trumpism, here to stay?
The only thing that makes me extremely more pessimistic is the rise of AI and drone surveillance.
I very much fear a hi-tech military that easily overwhelms even your most ardent gun nut militia nerds, and we've got a theocratic fascist who has been a propaganda head for Fox running it all now.
How the fuck are we supposed to defend ourselves from that?!

Civilian gun-owners killing agents of the state and the oligarchs is just a small part of what will eventually topple this system. Ordinary people gumming up the works for the bad guys and keeping the good guys alive will play a much bigger role. Work stoppages, sabotage, deliberately doing a bad job at things that the oppressors need to actually oppress, feeding and clothing and sheltering and caring for the people that they are going to target are all things that will make it harder for the villains to be successful at their villainy.

Don’t fight pitched battles? That’s always been a dumb idea. The magical imaginary money farm of the super rich falls completely apart if people aren’t actually producing/consuming, so they can’t just wipe out the population. Every advanced army in history has run into trouble policing a population that they couldn’t just exterminate.besides, it’s not like musk et all can ACTUALLY program or build their death bots. Hell, most of them are so pickled on ketamene I doubt they can even feed themselves.
