View submission: what does this salary mean per year?

View parent comment

I just want to bump this comment to the top, because (i) for foreigner it is important to note in austria you typically get payed your salary 14x a year and (ii) calulator from the arbeiterkammer (i.e. worker union organization) is really good. It shows what you get on a typically month, what you get on the month with bonus salaries (typically june and november), and what you will get over the whole year. All of those are shown as "brutto" (i.e. before taxes and social security) and "netto" (i.e. what will end up in your account after taxes and social security security are subtracted)

Just one thing: translating the Arbeiterkammer as a union isn't accurate but organizations like the Arbeiterkammer are really unique so I guess it is the best fitting translation in this case

What do you mean typically 14x salaries? Isn’t it always the case?
