Before we can get started, you need to activate an identity. Click on that human silhouette button and pick one, or create a new identity. Make sure it’s valid for a very long time. Once it expires, you lose access to your capsule (unless you take precautions).
The client certificate is like a username & password
The identities are visible in the sidebar if you click on the head silhouette. In the screenshot below you see that I have to identities that I have already created by none is currently in use, and the list of capsules also doesn’t tell me which one is “mine”.

If you click on the “➕ New…” button, you get to create a new one. Pick a year that’s far ahead in the future for this kind of use. If the certificate expires, you lose access to your capsule unless you take extra precautions before it expires, or it’ll be up to the administrator of the site to fix this manually somehow. Better to pick a date in the far future.
Use any name you want but make sure you know what you are using it for when you see it in that sidebar.
If you already have an identity, make sure to use it “on this page” from the context menu.

Once you’re using the identity, reload the list of capsules and now you’re shown the link to your capsule.
