For a while, the Transjovian Council hosted a copy of the Gemini Mailing List Archive. This is no longer the case, unfortunately. You can find a copy of the archive, here:

Gemini Public Inbox, hosted by Alex Wennerberg

What’s the difference between a mailing list and an archive, also known as a “public inbox”? The archive does not send any emails! If you send mails to the archive, they are archived; it is up to the readers to check the archive or to subscribe to its feed in order to receive updates.

As for the copy I had hosted, I took it down for two reasons: For one, the mail addresses weren’t obfuscated and one of the people on the list contact me, saying that they had started receiving spam on an otherwise spam-free mail address. I assume that they did not expect to see the archives on the open web. I could have moved the archive behind some sort of authentication, but eventually I decided against it. The archive wasn’t being used for new discussions, after all, and it wasn’t at all clear what the benefit of keeping an archive would be. Another issue I had was that the software I used to prepare the archive was in flux and I didn’t have the spare cycles to change the setup once I had something up and running.
