There used to be an archive of the Gemini Mailing List for the years 2019–2021, hosted by the Transjovian Council. The idea of using an archive (or a “public inbox”) instead of mailing list still seems quite appealing, though.

It’s just an archive: you can send mail to the mail address listed in the archive, and if you do your mail gets added to the archive, but it won’t actually get sent anywhere. The archive updates with the mails received once per hour.
It’s up to the readers of the mailing list to visit the archive, or to subscribe to the list’s feed.
If you want to reply to a message, feel free to send an email to the original author, and CC “the mailing list” – the public inbox of the archive.
