Got myself an Everdrive for my GBA and it's breathed new life into it. Suddenly I can play every GBA game ever made, as well as NES games, GBC games, and even homebrew stuff! Have an English translation of Mother 3 on there, as well as Pokemon Liquid Crystal and Ultravoilet. Looking forward to cozy retro gaming days ahead!

"Just as the cuttlefish squirts its ink in order to project itself, [the bourgeoisie] cannot rest until it has obscured the ceaseless making of the world, fixated this world into an object which can be for ever possessed, catalogued its riches, embalmed it, and injected into reality some purifying essence which will stop its transformation, its flight towards other forms of existence."

Anybody here have any experience with NixOS? Heard about it for the first time today and think I might give it a try whenever my Framework laptop arrives.

The French Revolution bore the twin headed hydra into our world. The red Phrygian caps of the People, and the tricolor they would die for. The Revolution, freedom, equality, fraternity, and the nationalistic fervor of Frenchness. Revolution and nationalism, fused together into an unstoppable force, at least for a while. A trick that cannot be repeated, rippling outwards into eternity. All history hence is farcical repetition of this singular genesis. The left, the right, the Revolution and reaction. We cannot move on, though many have tried. The same fight, ad infinitum. The essence of modernity lies in this eternal battle.

Thinking a lot about the death of one of my favorite authors, Roberto Calasso. We lost him a few days ago, and the world feels worse off for it. His dreamlike texts, swimming with secrets just beyond our perception, are dear to me. They've brought me so much joy in an otherwise shitty year and a bit, one that seems never ending really. RIP my friend.

Just brought a new kitty home and my current cat, after smelling the bag, feel to the floor in shock. She didn’t more for like two minutes, just pure shock. “How could you do this to me?!” she’s thinking, I’m sure of it. The little guy is chilling the bathroom right now chirping like a bird. It’ll be a slow intro process but hopefully they grow to tolerate each other!

Absolutely loving King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's new album, Butterfly 3000. It's fully of MIDI beats and acid inspired sounds, and has a joyfulness that's badly needed. Check it out folks, it's wonderful for a Friday like today.

Anybody read any books by Krasznahorkai? Reading his Satantango right now and it's so wonderful. Lush prose with interesting, original forms and a desparately bleak view of humanity. Definitely going to dive more into his works. He might be the best author still alive I've read, outside of Roberto Calasso who will forever be unmatched.

What are we listening to today, folks? I'm on a big Debussy kick right now, but also just listened to Tago Mago by Can for the first time, and it was great.

Wow, this is incredibly well done. Excited to be here and keep watching Gemini grow! Glad we have a message board-type place to hang. How's everybody doing this Tuesday?
