AV not required for detection, but was required to see NGC 4485 which is the faint patch to the north of NGC 4490. The noise generated by the two almost had a heart shaped appearance. The core was not easily evident in either, however I could see it for brief moments in NGC 4490 while using AV. Chara was close enough to still be in the FoV to the SE.
