Week 04: Unexpected Improvement

I primarily play StepManiaX in order to exercise, focusing on sustained play at a moderate level instead of high-level skill. This week I decided to try some charts a few levels higher than I normally play. The resulting score caught me completely off guard. I guess I'm better at the game than I thought I was.

Local nurseries and garden stores are selling winter plants, as well as starters for spring. This particular shop is also a coffee shop, and we visited it to sample their wares. They were also selling entire miniature gardens for decoration: a pleasant sight when the weather has been so cold recently.

Our ferrets Mocha and Chai love to play, but their sleep schedules are slightly different. That means they usually play alone--and they want us to join them. We don't have the free time to do that during the day. So this week we decided to buy a third ferret, one who can be a playmate to the other two. She is very young--and fast, as this blurry picture shows.

We made some soup for our New Year's Day lunch. Upon peeling an unusually-large onion, we discovered that it had two bulbs inside. I take this as a good-luck charm for 2025.
