This really ought not to be a "hack" that has to be passed around if youTube was designed around fostering real engagement with the videos.
Oh they talk about "engagement" a lot. And even use comments to measure it. But fundamentally their design shows they don't really care.
Letting people know that *someone* has taken the time to respond to them should be the top priority of any social network. That is the SOCIAL part. That's the whole point!
