@solenepercent @solene For whatever reason you ended up there, your experience while sounding authoritative is not necessarily representative. Depending on the machine in use, reliability has been extremely high for me and one major reason why I continue to prefer OpenBSD over any Linux I've used in the past.
Holding the gamepad support against OpenBSD isn't really fair - it was never a gaming OS and the gamepad support is more of a function of hardware manufacturers and monopolists (Microsoft) not following accepted standards, but doing all kinds of custom driver/protocol BS.
I think you should be fair and make it clear that your reliability experience may not be a common experience. You have brought up issues, but it seems that efforts to try to help with it from other developers didn't lead anywhere. I would have considered sponsoring a known-working laptop of mine to gift to you to help, but at the time you had already made up your mind... The offer stands if you were to consider returning to OpenBSD and contributing again.
