@karmaniverous @pluralistic The moving connections part is pretty nice. Export your contacts, forward your followings, import your contacts. It’s better than email, because your follower does net need to do a thing to keep in contact.
Importing the content to another server would create duplicate content. But if you control or selfhost the server, of course no one can stop you to import anything you like. There are also tools to import your old tweets. But it’s not built in (yet).
