@marjolica @bryanredeagle @pluralistic I would also prefer to have some way of automatic backups. But it’s good practice to notice three month before takedown. Enough time to export everything. No shortened link, no URL to a file but the file itself (other than the Twitter/X-export. If you are able to host your own instance, as I do, it’s me who decides the takedown. And when you control the instance, no one can stop you from re-uploading your old content you exported.
