If it’s like real life, then what you’re proposing feels a lot like strong-arming all the independant local cafes into franchise deals with giants corporate chains, just because you can’t get your friends to agree on where to go for lunch.
Because platform choice isn’t (just) a technical decision.
It’s a subcultural one.
People have what are often strong preferences, for reasons, and don’t necessarily want them overridden.
