View submission: Texas Senate bills…
They want teachers, coaches, and principals to *lead* prayers which is absolutely not what “freedom to pray in schools” means 🙃

Yea, it's about headlines for them. That sounds good to a lot as a headline, then when you get into the actual verbage you see it's only one religion they're talking about. That tracks for our legislators. 🙄

As a headline I could see that appealing to many and many are only headline readers, once you get into the verbage we see it's only one religion they're talking about. That tracks unfortunately.

Yup. They want football coaches leading prayers on the football field, preferably over the PA system so the whole stadium can get in on it. They want principals to lead prayers at assemblies and pep rallies. They want teachers leading prayers in the classroom. But only Christian prayers, of course. And only the right flavor of Christian. All you other religions can go feel bad 'cause you're going to hell. Get ready to be singled out and bullied.
This is purely for recruitment and indoctrination purposes. Nothing like a little peer pressure and pressure from authority figures to get you to accept Jesus as your personal lord and savior, am I right?

I remember being in football and having to run a few laps because I didn't feel comfortable joining the prayer. If I had known what I know now... man that would have been a payday 15 years ago.
Even one of the most conservative school districts in Texas had students with faiths other than Christianity in it. Can you imagine being forced to pray to a Christian God when you grew up Islamic, Sikh, Buddist, or any number of other faiths?
God forbid you are an Atheist or Agnostic High Schooler in Texas these days like I was.
