View submission: Being grateful for your job
Yeah, I tried to be like OP and only look at the bright side of my last crappy job. But when I got fired it gave me such a massive sense of relief and I realized that being complacent with spending 40hrs a week miserable is *not* a good thing.
Those are hours you will never get back. A lot of terrible jobs even *shorten your lifespan* with stress/lack of safety. It's not worth it IMO.

Yeah in fact being in a shitty job and losing your happiness over that is the opposite of simple living, you certainly don't need to work at google to be happy but having a job that lets you do a couple things in your free time is definitely something everyone in this server should strive for at the very least

Never said only look for a bright side, just emphasise it. If you feel you are stuck, find positives and look for better jobs. Emphasising a brighter side will make you feel a tiny bit better.
