Oh my god are you me? I was just at the library yesterday to pick up a book I requested from them and a book club was letting out and all of the women were like 70+. I was like there goes my idea of joining a book club to find some friends. I’m 30 so like, idk that that would work for me lol.

It’s definitely hard being the odd one out. My husband and I have a lot of acquaintances but are not part of a defined group. And always the outliers. Me especially, since he’s the social butterfly. No one at these functions wants to hear about how well my compost bin is doing or that my wildflowers are coming up or that I’m learning to crochet lmao

Edit: my god, sorry for the word vomit. I rambled a bit there

As someone who runs a book club at a public library, most of the people who attend are retirees. However, I'm in my 40's and get so much out of their wisdom and thoughts. Don't dismiss them just because they are older :)

As a gardener myself, I would love to hear about your compost bin and wildflowers 🤗

Hard relate. Do you ever question that this is the way life was supposed to be and it's the "natural" form of living? Like, humans were meant to grow their own food and roam around in the forest, rather than accumulate stuff?

But if you ever try to talk about it with anyone, you're labelled weird. :/
