Our mod team does use chat to keep track of day-to-day stuff ("maybe we should edit this thing in the subreddit," "do you all think this post breaks the rules, seems borderline to me," etc)

That being said, I'd appreciate if chat just sent working notifications when you get a new message. On old reddit the chat logo hasn't notified me of new messages in our mod group chat for months.

And I agree with the overall sentiment that this website, with original appeal of being "a place to talk in forum-style discussions," is looking a little too much like "generic, bland social media page full of ads" these days, especially on the official app which I tried for about two seconds before deleting it

we (AskHistorians) just use Slack, because it's way better than anything Reddit offers.
