View submission: Robert Pattinson on celebrity culture

Kind of like going back to the 90s and early 2000s, when the only way to find out about a celeb's personal life was through tabloids or magazines. I agree.

But then again, it's because of social media and the lack of this "curtain", that we learned so many celebs are problematic assholes...

Part of why celebrities have embraced social media so much is because of the tabloid culture of the 90’s. A lot of celebs use social media as a way to circumvent or refute tabloids. The negative side to it being harder for an individual person to share their thoughts with a wide audience is that those with access to publishing media shaped all messages to the public.
