Yeah, they had a massive empire for centuries, they minted hundreds of millions of them. They’re still commonly found by metal detectorists.

Yep and they're not expensive. Well, if you want to buy gold or silver ones they're pricey, but if you're looking for just base metal ones you can get them fairly cheap. Have a look at numisbids.com[1] and search for roman coins lots. That'll show you a few job lots. Some of them will be worn but some will be easily recognisable
