It's still frustrating that like 90% of right wingers pretend like bigotry against Muslims or people who are perceived to be Muslim doesn't exist even there have countless examples in the past several weeks. They freaked out when Biden announced an National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia. They cynically said Biden was ignoring/downplaying anti-Semitism (which of course is a massive problem to be clear) even though Biden announced a national strategy co counter anti-Semitism a few days before.

even a lot of liberal democrats have been hella racist towards Muslims, it's been perfectly OK for years to demonize Muslims and democrat lawmakers and their voters have played a fair bit of part in it, nearly every democrat supported wars in middle east, libyan crisis happened under democrats.

And it gave everyone the courage to be more hateful to the group of people they already hated in the first place.

That's why I've switched to just calling them "bigots" since they love to say that Islamophobia isn't racism

It's not that different how they use stand your ground laws to justify killing black people. They really do believe they are partaking in self-defense against a threat.
