Bill Nighy seems like a random choice but he was *prefect*, absolutely spot-on with the mannerisms of Davy Jones.

The biggest shame is that a fair few of his scenes were cut. Especially this[1] (starting at 1.30). Not only does it explain quite a bit more about Elizabeth's father's death, it explains *why* Jones has to be replaced by whoever stabs the heart. And the way he speaks is so damn haunting.

Honesty I know the 2nd and 3rd movies get a lot of shit for being totally overstuffed, but I LOVE At World’s End especially because of this. The characters and lore have so much room to breathe. Give me a 5 hour cut with all of Bill Night’s deleted scenes and I will be a very jolly landlubber.
