Is he, though? George has a way of making good actors look bad when he directs.

If all you ever saw of Natalie Portman, Liam Neeson, and Christopher Lee were their Star Wars roles, you'd probably be unimpressed with them as well.

He stopped overdoing it by the time they hit the cantina and was pretty good after that and still improved over the next two.

I don't get this, by *Empire* he'd certainly become quite good. His time with Yoda is a magical part of the film and it wouldn't be as good if the Yoda puppet wasn't convincing, and Mark wasn't convincing.

I'm biased, but Mark is not bad IMO
