Whoops - we almost forgot this important news!
- *Mod Queue Bug Fixes & Settings Update**
Last month[1] we committed ourselves to improving the stability and reliability of the new desktop mod queue experience. In this latest round of bug fixes, we’ve smoothed out some rough edges that were making your job harder. Here’s what’s been resolved to make your modding experience a bit more seamless:
1: https://www.reddit.com/r/modnews/comments/1g5xa6m/new_mod_queue_enhancements/
- **Jumping to the Right Spot** – The PDP (Post Detail Page) panel wasn’t always lining up to the exact post or comment, making things unnecessarily tricky. We’ve corrected this to ensure it takes you straight to the action.
- **Cleaner Action Buttons** – Mod action call-to-actions (CTAs) were piling on top of one another in the PDP panel, causing a cluttered view. Now, each action stands on its own.
- **Report Expansion Settings Honored** – Even with “expand reports” turned off, reports were displaying fully expanded on the PDP. We’ve got that under control now.
- **Reports Opening the Right Panel** – Clicking on ignored reports in the community feed would sometimes open the post instead of the previous actions, due to a pesky z-index issue. This should now behave as expected.
- **Keyboard Shortcut Fixes** – The “v” shortcut to open previous actions had gone rogue, but it’s back to doing its job.
- **Opening Reports Correctly in Queue** – Clicking on a mod queue report in the table opened the PDP instead of ‘show previous actions.’ Fixed.
- **Dark Mode Highlighting** – Keyword highlights in dark mode blended into the background, but now they’re bright and clear.
- **Optimistic Action Rendering** – Improved the response speed of actions in the queue, like approve/remove/spam.
- **GIFs Loading Properly** – Inline GIFs were appearing as blank boxes and only loading on click. Now, they load as expected, limiting loopholes that some were using to bypass rules.
- **Right-Sized Icons** – Some icons in posts and comments were showing up inflated in the user rail, making the page look unpolished. They’re back to normal.
- **Stable Tab Selection** – The selected tab was defaulting to ‘needs review’ after opening the PDP panel. We’ve adjusted this for a more intuitive experience.
- **Anchored ‘Next Page’ Button** – The “next page” button wasn’t anchored to the bottom, creating unnecessary scroll-downs. We’ve locked it to its spot at the bottom for easier navigation.
- **Mod Tool Settings Consolidation** - We’ve also streamlined some Mod Tools settings. Content Controls and Posts & Comments are now combined, and the same goes for the General Settings and Notifications tabs.

Mod Tool Settings Consolidation
Good! The amount of time I’ve spend clicking around trying to find a certain setting in my years of modding was getting a bit ridiculous 😂

Hiya, u/lift_ticket83, Yeah the filters work. They work great. But we still get the modmail notification. That is very counterintuitive. You filtered it for us and then give us a modmail notification to check our modmail.[1] So we still have to go to modmail to read it. What's the point of that? We can choose to read it when check our modmail for other things. Thanks.
