we're planning to phase out new.reddit later this year as we move forward with our updates.
I still don't understand what is being gained by the latest version of the UI. But the rest of this post sounds great.

Better ways to collect more granular data from all of us. The number of javascripts on sh.reddit is insane (over 100 from redditstatic.com alone).
