View submission: Announcing a new mobile Mod Queue
Not a fan (to say the least) of replacing buttons with gestures and hiding basic buttons in a sub menu.
The reduced screen space on mobile devices makes this somewhat of a tricky balance to strike. We found that adding the swipe functionality to the mod queue made it easier for mods to manage their Mod Queue more efficiently. What specific actions would you like to see pulled out from a sub menu?
That nice but it would be really great if this was made into a selectable option and of course extended to posts as well. Let us choose if we wish to be shown the removal reasons prompt or not!”
This is a selectable option for comments today and if we hear enough mods voice a desire for this for posts too, then it’s something we can look into adding down the road for posts.

I second the notion above, swiping controls really aren't ideal. It could be because I'm left-handed, have small hands, etc. but when I swipe to scroll, I tend to swipe a little in horizontal directions as well. Take the new swiping feature for mobile Reddit chats as an example.

Why not just make a toggle button for swiping? For example, I've noticed that currently on Android mobile, tapping the moderator shield icon brings up a new UI. I believe it replaced the options to respond/vote with the buttons to approve, remove, lock, etc.
So basically, whenever moderators want to go through the mod queue and start swiping, they can press a single icon that changes the UI to reflect what they're doing. Is this feasible?

(I think I'm the one you wanted to reply to, by the pieces you are quoting)

I use an iPhone SE first generation, which means exactly "reduced screen space on mobile devices"!
Still, on the line that is currently used for the 4 buttons (spam, remove, approve, the menu button to see the other options) I very much see the space to have the 2 most basic buttons: approve and remove, same actions of the swipes!

Just approve and remove is good enough if you ask me. Everything else can be hidden inside the hold-down menu, or if you ask me you could also add a little shield button right next to the three dots one.

Is that so? From the post it looks like this is not selectable, it looks like for comments you will never be given the removal reasons prompt automatically.
Did you actually mean that if we want with this new version we will be able to choose if we want the prompt or not? Because if that's the case I'm happy enough.

Fingers crossed!
