well, the data self centers. Your data is much sparser than the sample data, and doesn't have such a neat "center point".

you can probably space the nodes a bit by making the graph area larger, and decreasing the vertex size. However the relative distances between them is a function of the graph and holds information.

did you calculate the different centralities?

Honestly, I have no idea how to do almost any of that stuff... I'll have to spend some time researching it to see if I can get anywhere.
