Yeah, someone told me about it when I posted the original version so I gave it a shot. Here's what I got:

Thing is, I have no idea how I can separate the nodes (Google was surprisingly unhelpful). Also still don't know if I can try centering the web on a single node as I described earlier.

well, the data self centers. Your data is much sparser than the sample data, and doesn't have such a neat "center point".

you can probably space the nodes a bit by making the graph area larger, and decreasing the vertex size. However the relative distances between them is a function of the graph and holds information.

did you calculate the different centralities?
