Agreed. Football fans are naturally very reactionary, it always saddens me when people attack individual players or managers for what is sometimes nothing more than a bad day at the office. These people are human and should be treated with respect. It is the fault of the billionaire owners and media giants that elevate our expectations of these kids to inhuman levels. At the end of the day, they are just ordinary people who know how to kick a ball well (or not so well depending on how you view things).

Fans are reactionary because a lot of emotion is tied into the sport. It’s not just about entertainment or watching people kick a ball well. For many, it’s their identity on the line every game.

And that’s the issue with having leadership that ignores or fails to understand people’s motivations for support. You get a product that doesn’t align with what people want and a lot of ensuing frustration.
