View submission: RIP conspiracy
This isn't really even a true conspiracy sub is one major issue. It's a Dem bashing, Alex Jones/Joe Rogan Fan club. I could see how that would tamp down engagemen perhaps. I'm desperate to find a group that knows partisan hack bullshit is meant to distract and divide us peons. The "elite"/illuminati/cabal/whateveryouwannacallit transcend party politics. Maybe I'm just too old to be here. I've been studying conspiracy since the early 90s before there was even an internet. I had to go to my local library, find seminars, conventions, etc to seek out like minded thinkers, to gather and share information. This sub is an echochamber of the same general ideas to the seeming exclusion of different perspectives. This is my very humble opinion. Not sure if it had anything to do with the numbers you mention, but it's hard to want to engage around here sometimes when hero worshipping 45 & his gang of confidence men & grifters isn't your bag.

distract and divide
Take a look at the quote below from Foundations of Geopolitics[1]. The greatest conspiracy that is actually happening is how Russia and the FSB have been able to achieve much of the plan in that text through subversion. This type of thing should go over well in a real conspiracy forum, but like you said, unfortunately this is just a Fox News talking point echo chamber.

"Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics"

Went to hear Robert Anton Wilson speak at a book signing. Some guy asked him what the biggest conspiracy in the world is. His answer- stupid people.

Thank you for this response!! A good friend recommended this sub to me. I was raised by a survivalist / conspirator long before there was an internet. I got off of all social media a couple of years ago and haven’t even used Reddit much. I decided to comment on a thread here yesterday and realized fairly quickly that my observations about this space were correct. You summed it up perfectly! This comment does give me some hope there are still a few like minded people out there! So, thank you again!

That was this sub pre-2015. I mean, that was the entire "conspiracy" community pre-2015... Then something happened, almost like someone flipped a switch... And then **boom**. Everything changed. I'm sure you already know what I'm talking about.
It hasn't been the same since. The bullshit is so blatant now that people just take it at face value because they don't think anyone would give them the "big lie"... But, now, that's the only thing anyone does... And the worst part is, it's working. EVEN WORSE than that, people are starting to say, "well, yeah, they do it because they have to". It's fucking mind blowing.
tldr; I agree

It was fine until Reddit started shutting down all the right wing subs, and they all started coming here instead. This place feels like The Donald at times.

Yes!! When going to the library was away to fall down the rabbit whole and make like minded friends. I miss the smell of books on a shelf, the weight, and the felling of paper on my fingertips. Smoking a J and discussion of aliens, religion, secret societies, philosophy, science and technology, and some damn fine fantasy…. Good God, those were some glorious days!

I don't care for Alex Jones and his bullshit screaming. And since when do we hang on every word from a guy who used to dump cock roaches on people, and dole out moose penis's for the chewing?

Unlike every other sub on reddit that downvotes you to oblivion or just right out bans you for daring to speak negatively of them. I unsubbed to all the msm subs in 2016 when the constant lying and bots took over reddit for good. Has been a much better experience since. Other than posts like this filled with dems who come here just to refute anything they read in the sub. The real people who have been here can see it so easily. Just like the comments in this post. Soooo super organic for this sub. gmafb
