The 3600 is seeing steep price increases due to low supply/high demand. It's definitely not a good buy right now when compared to an i5-10400F for $150-170.

The 3100 is steadily priced, the 3300X is out of stock everywhere due to high demand. The 3700X is discounted. Every other 3000-series Ryzens are pretty much obsoleted by the 5000-series so are either low on stock or discounted. The 5000 series offer best-in-class performance, so of course they are going to price them as such. AMD isn't anyone's friend: they sell their CPU's for as much as they possibly can, and their performance justifies the price right now.

Intel had to drop prices to stay competitive, which is exactly where AMD has been for years before now. At some price brackets, intel's cheaper prices make sense. Overall, this competition is good for the brand-agnostic consumer.

I agree. It's a shame that, unlike me, my MOBO is not agnostic :/
