Hi! I'm changing some parts in my computer, spesifically the psu, mobo, cpu and ram. I'm keeping my m.2 nvme drive, the case and gpu (for now). What do I do about the storage before changing the other components? Do I have to wipe it clean? Do I have to do a fresh windows install? I tried googling but found some conflicting answers.. Thanks in advance!

I have swapped my m.2 ssd from my old PC to an completely new one (new mainboard, new cpu, new memory) and Windows 10 just needed a few minutes to update the hardware settings and i was good to go. Only had to install a few drivers and i did not have to install Windows again.
Thats the power of Windows 10

Try it and see. Do your backups beforehand, and then you can just see what happens. It might work perfectly after a couple of reboots, it might give you loads of blue screens. It's probably better to do a fresh install but it's a pain in the arse sometimes!

Am also seeking an answer to this question. I bought an m.2 stick and used it in my laptop prior to building my pc. M.2 drive is currently not being detected in the bios.
Does it need to be formatted prior to it being installed?
Can I only format it on my laptop?
