I think that if you are only concerned with the individual then it is a natural response to want to avoid the fight and save oneself.

But he is not an individual. He is one of many. All facing the same peril, the same realities of life right now. Choosing to run is a selfish act because it is placing your own well being over that of everyone else who accepts their place. It’s turning to everyone else and asking them to die in your stead. That is selfish.

It’s easy to justify it or rationalize it when you remove others from the equation. But I would imagine the reality would be starkly different if he were to go to his classmates, to his peers, look them in the eyes and tell them that he is running, and they will need to take his place. That is the seriousness of what he is deciding.

Well guess what buddy? everybody fucking dies sooner or later. Let kids be kids and live the life God gave to them. Why does he have to give his life just so some power hungry men gets what they want while the rest of the world can go burn?

YOU ARE ASKING HIM TO DIE. Thats what you are doing right now. You think that the military is good just because YOU have a good experience. Some people dont wanna suffer, some people dont wanna experience PTSD and alot of stress. If you can handle it well good for you!

It is YOU who is being selfish here by drowning his voice! It is you who is being selfish here by not thinking first why he dont wanna join your little boys club. You just instantly call him a chicken without even asking first, "maybe this guy doesnt wanna join the military because he has been through enough problems in his life that he dont want no other stress to pile up in his life" or "maybe this guy just dont wanna become another dead weight to the military because he knows that he himself isnt mentally or physically possible?"

But NOOOOO you didnt asked yourself those questions. You called him a coward because thats what you have been taught in the military; That violencr solve everything! Or its better to be a violent person to become a man! Violence good > peace bad, thats your mentally but I dont blame you because thats what they do. They get in your heads and reprogram you
