Nah they're going to be more expensive temporarily. That's because the food manufacturers are already close to the price that people will significantly reduce production, which means they can't raise prices much. They'll have to take it out of their profits. Which means they'll automate most of it.
The thing you're missing is people like me didn't vote for simple easy solutions. We voted for the right policy even if it was going to be hard. I went into the tariffs and immigration crackdown well aware of the consequences and long term benefits.
That will take a few years but it'll result in even cheaper eggs by then. Some industries might end up with American workers at higher wages. Most though will automate and get cheaper.
Better for all consumers in the long run, and one step closer to a real post scarcity society.

What’s this arbitrary price that will “reduce production” that you speak of? You’re delusional if you think companies won’t continue to raise prices. I guarantee you probably still buy eggs while bitching about the price. People will continue to buy until the price skyrockets into abject unaffordable territory
The day that manufacturers take a hit to profits to benefit the consumer is the 5th of never. Prices won’t go down. They might stop increasing, or increase slower, but they don’t go down. Companies that have you paying $5/dozen for eggs won’t drop the price below $5 ever again, because they know you’ll pay *at least* $5 for eggs.
You might be right about automation, but it won’t result in reduced prices. It’ll result in the same prices with increased profits for the manufacturers, at best.
