View submission: What are the reasons millions of undocumented immigrants were allowed in the US? I don't recall ever hearing the most obvious reasons by politicians.

"NO administration in a hundred years has allowed undocumented immigrants."

In word or in deed? The last administration said they were for a strong boarder but then did nothing to reinforce it or even properly man it. We have an additional 10+ million people who came in illegaly while doing nothing to try and change the quota for legal migrants.

I can’t comprehend the mindset that prefers to have millions of unvetted people come in.

Doesn’t it make more sense to have a really strong boarder and increase the number of legal immigrants that can come in every year?

We've had millions of undocumented people living in the US for *decades*

I don't know why people think this is something new. In 2011 we had 11 million, and in 2021 11.6 million. https://ohss.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/2024-06/2024_0418_ohss_estimates-of-the-unauthorized-immigrant-population-residing-in-the-united-states-january-2018%25E2%2580%2593january-2022.pdf
