View submission: What are the reasons millions of undocumented immigrants were allowed in the US? I don't recall ever hearing the most obvious reasons by politicians.

Sorry, didn't see this response. I don't disagree with you, there's a certain Private School > PPE at Oxford > MP/Consultancy pathway which a lot of them take, and far too many seem to be too close to big businesses. I think some parties are worse for it than others, and personally think those on the Right are more on the take (not to say there aren't MPs in the Labour party who aren't). However. Running a country is realllllllly fucking hard. I'm not sure Dave down the pub is cut out for it. It takes a certain type of person to do the job. The balance has definitely been skewed for a long time, but there are good MPs out there. Unfortunately too few.

I'm not suggesting running for the pm. I'm just thinking outside the box really. I'm 4 whiskies deep now though. I'm not suggesting a party as such, something different. For example people should have an input on how the budget is spent, obviously within reason. The nhs has been struggling for years and I'm sure most of the country would of gladly seen us tighten our belts in other areas for a few years to give the nhs a much needed boost. Also there should be away for joe public to propose new ideas to the GOV and be heard. There is a website for petitions but that takes a long time to reach their ears even if it does make the required amount of signatures. I'm not even blaming ALL politicians. I think they're just so far removed us that they just can't comprehend what it's like for an average person.
