It's absurd to donate to the organization that has:
A couple months ago, when I looked into it to see if I should be concerned, I (and many others) believed the WHO and CDC who said there was little to worry about and spread was limited. Yes, I saw other sources of information claiming it was widespread, being covered up, very dangerous, and not under control but I wrote those off, trusting the WHO.
When the virus arrived, everyone was caught with their pants down BECAUSE of the WHO. The virus would have showed up eventually, but we could have gotten much further ahead of this **reducing international travel, monitoring spread, funding tests and treatment, supporting research, preparing medical supply manufacturing, reducing large gatherings, educating about symptoms & spread, educating about prevention**. All of that could have bought us an extra couple months, without even instituting any stay-home orders or shutting down businesses.
The WHO has about a 4.5-billion dollar annual budget, and what little they've done to help is massively out-classed by what they've done to make it worse. Meanwhile, we're having to rely on charitable contributions of private individuals and organizations to get reources where they actually need to go, and Reddit would have us direct them to the WHO, rather than the thousands of other organizations that need those resources more and would use them better.
Also, The official subreddit r/Coronavirus[1] reddit keeps promoting "**KEEP YOURSELF SAFE AND INFORMED**" is garbage that gets people riled up; it's nothing but fear, anxiety, sensationalism, politics, and emotional stories. There is almost zero facts, "authoritative content", or informed content there about the virus, symptoms, spread, treatments, prevention, etc.

edit: I appreciate the thoughtfulness, but please stop giving gold and other paid rewards to people like me speaking out against the WHO. It's contradictory to our message.
There's nothing here!
