I've done both the former and the latter. You have to think about how much it will eat at you if you let a couple of months of tight finances be the 'thing' that stopped you. The thing that was able to defeat your dream. And then be OK with that (because it is OK). Also take into consideration the people it impacts. For me, I have a child so it wasn't just me that had to live in the trenches for my dream.

I've been going through the same thing and I realize that I just have to work harder because I need a consistent flow of income. So I am doing both and if you have a child please get a job kids are expensive.
