View submission: Out with 2016, in with 2017
I'm liking the increase of these 'what's happening' announcement posts. Keep up the great work!
40% of views from apps is surprising to me! Might have to check them out.
Also, first time hearing of this rework. I think a lot of reddit's charm is the relative plainness of the website, although I don't know enough about code to tell how the backend works. Is this a functional change, visual rework or just a complete overhaul of everything?

I agree re charm. We don't have to lose that feeling to make things better.
Reddit still runs code that I wrote ~~ten~~ twelve years ago when I was 21. I really hope by the end of this year most of that trash is gone!
e: getting older.

I almost exclusively use reddit on mobile. The design and usability is miles better than desktop, even with RES, imo.

I started using reddit through reddit is fun, even though the official version has been released I'm used to this one now. I think that the website really falls against the apps, regardless of which one you're using. The design and the overall functionality of it feels clunky and browsing through subs doesn't feel as fluid as it does on rif.
Maybe it's just me who isn't really used to it since now, even on my pc I grab my phone to go to reddit.

It's probably 40% because any time you try and view on your phone it constantly asks you to download the app.

Fixed your comment for you.
You, a user who hasn't posted in three months and just happened to post for his "cake day" on an announcement thread where he became the top comment for a thread automatically sorted by Q&A.

I don't care about these updates and rarely read them
...But I'd complain about their absence if they didn't do them.
