As somebody who still sticks with desktop, even on mobile, how are you planning on changing it?
^^*please* ^^*don't* ^^*mess* ^^*it* ^^*up*
Edit: Shit. Now mobile site is forced[1] even when you choose desktop site, making users need to request desktop through the site *every time it is opened*. I stuck with it through all the fatpeoplehate/Ellen Pao debacles, but forcing that awful interface will definitely make me seek alternatives.

Bet it's lots of dead space and oversized buttons. Gotta make EVERYTHING designed around ipads these days.

This. I stick with desktop as well and I have grown to love the simple (dare I say iconic?) look of Reddit.
Just putting it out there but I don't use the app because I will get nothing done if I have Reddit on my phone.

It's really tough. I gave voat a try but it really is a self-fulfilling prophecy - I don't mind obnoxious right-wingers in their own subreddits, or even occasionally posting their stupid opinions in larger general interest subs, but when voat got the reputation among detractors and supporters as the place for mean people to be as hateful as they want, that's kind of the patina the whole place took. Part of reddit's appeal is its plurality/pluralism; I fear that that may be impossible to recreate, and we'll merely have to be content to have enjoyed a brief, special moment in history while we were there. ^^Reddit ^^will ^^be ^^our ^^generation's ^^Woodstock
