View submission: Trans Women, Male Privilege, and the Intersectionality of Patriarchal Oppression

Again, this has the presumptive air of “I’m not racist but… [insert racist statement here].” The OP literally mentions it not being a competition in the original post. You’re the one who made the oppression Olympics comment. Also you literally said the following earlier:

“it’s that I also see them as a subset of the crap women have been dealing with forever while you see them as personal and specific to you ¯_(ツ)_/¯”

Since trans issues aren’t specific to trans people I’ve got some questions. How often do you get misgendered or straight up insulted by others including medical professionals who claim to want to help you? I’ve literally been told I’m not a trans woman but a gay man who just wants to do drag instead despite this psychologist knowing I was bi. I’ve been called uncooperative and manipulative for wanting to pursue bottom by a social worker I switched to later on. Before that a psychiatrist suggested syphilis was to explain for my symptoms when she learned I was queer. How often do you worry about being harassed when using a public restroom? How often do you get dirty and scathing looks and avoided like you have some sort of disease for something as simple as shopping in the women’s section? How often while growing up did you feel completely ostracized as you heard words like faggot and tranny regularly thrown around? When puberty hit you, when did the dissociative symptoms start and how did they progress? My teenage years were plagued with dissociative breakdowns and full on out of body experiences. I had no idea what was going on and thought I might be having some sort of strange psychosis.

That’s just scratching the surface honestly. You can’t both claim allyship and then turn around and get annoyed when trans people talk about their issues and experiences.
